More » Benchmarking Argonne's UAS capability for environmental studies A team from EVS recently benchmarked the Laboratory’s UAS capabilities for environmental research. The study showed examples of what environmental data UASs can collect; the type, detail, and quality of the images; as well as the benefits and limitations of existing UASs in the Laboratory. More » ARM facility aids understanding of climate and weather EVS manages operations at the Southern Great Plains (SGP), the oldest, largest, and most heavily instrumented of the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) facilities. SGP is equipped with instruments that provide users with ways to visualize the vertical distribution of clouds. More » Controlling the harmful effects of farming with biomass buffers In an effort to reduce land and sea pollution resulting from agricultural practices, EVS scientists, led by Cristina Negri, are investigating the use of bioenergy buffers, i.e., perennial biomass crops, to control some of the more harmful effects of current farming practices.
